Family & Civil Mediation

Mediation Attendance Rules & Guidelines

We want you to feel fully prepared for your upcoming mediation session — whether it's a civil or family matter.

Below is everything you need to know before attending.

Who Can Attend

Civil Mediation:

  • Parties directly involved in the dispute

  • Legal representatives (if applicable)

  • Insurance representatives (when relevant)

  • Support persons (only with prior approval from the mediator and all parties)

Family Mediation:

  • Parents or guardians involved in the matter

  • Legal representatives (if applicable)

  • Support persons (with prior approval)

  • Other family members (only with mutual agreement and mediator’s approval)

Note: Children do not attend unless specifically arranged and approved in advance.

What to Bring

For Civil Mediation:

  • Photo ID

  • Any contracts, agreements, or written communications

  • Invoices, receipts, or financial documentation

  • Court or legal documents (if applicable)

  • Notepad and pen

For Family Mediation:

  • Photo ID

  • Parenting plans or custody agreements

  • Court orders (if any)

  • Recent child support documentation

  • Insurance and medical reimbursement records

  • Family property list (including all assets and liabilities)

  • Financial disclosure documents

  • Notepad and pen

Payment

  • Full payment is due no later than the day before your scheduled session

  • Your session is only confirmed after payment is received

Additional Guidelines

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early for in-person sessions

  • All participants must agree to confidentiality

  • Respectful behavior is expected throughout

  • No recordings are allowed

  • For virtual sessions:

    • Use a quiet, private space

    • Ensure a stable internet connection
